Golf
Sedgefield Country Club is best known for its magnificent 18-hole Donald Ross-designed golf course. Its small, undulating greens and rolling fairways create a challenge for the expert player as well as being fun for the beginner. Designed in 1925, Sedgefield has played host to many major amateur events in the Carolinas as well as hosting the Greater Greensboro open for over fifty (50) years. Sedgefield is now home to the PGA Tour’s Wyndham Championship, the ACC Women’s Golf Championship, and the AJGA’s Footjoy Invitational.
Sedgefield's Professional Golf Staff headed by PGA Professional, Rocky Brooks, strives to give the ultimate in service. “From the time you arrive until you leave, we make every effort to provide the members and their guests with the best possible experience.”
Among the amenities that Sedgefield provides are a fully stocked golf shop, club storage, lockers, complimentary range balls, and golf instruction from the our staff of Class A Professionals.
The Professional Golf Staff is available seven (7) days a week for both private and group lessons. Instructional Clinics and Camps are offered throughout the year to provide opportunities for everyone to try their hand at this challenging game.
Golf at Sedgefield is indeed a game that can be enjoyed by the entire family. We proudly feature organized Couples', Men's, Ladies', and Junior Golf events throughout the year.
Men’s Golf consists of Thursday evening Men’s Golf Nights, One-Day Member-Guests, our annual Men’s Member-Guest, and two annual Men’s Member-Member tournaments.
Sedgefield Ladies Golf hosts two different ladies organizations. The SWGA Ladies (Sedgefield Women’s Golf Association) as well as our Lady Niners play weekly from March through October.
Sedgefield features a very active Junior Golf Program. The program consists of an after-school golf program, junior interclub matches, two annual junior golf & tennis camps, six Parent-Junior events, and the year-ending Junior Club Championship.
Couples Golf is made up of 6 to 8 evening events held May through September and is enjoyed by every level of golfer from low-handicappers to golfers new to the game.
