"My ultimate goal wasn't to create an extremely difficult course, just one that's very challenging. So while you won't have to hit straight every hole, you're always going to have to think straight." – Greg Norman
Players and course evaluators nationwide rave about the course's unique natural design that conforms to its low-country wetland surrounding. Bordering protected conservation areas and 160 acres of natural wetlands, part of the experience is crossing the charming wooden bridges that link our fairways. Inspired by the perfection of nature itself, The Reserve's golf course feels as if it has always been here.
From the bag drop to the finishing hole, The Reserve staff provides a great experience each time you play. Our talented golf professionals are esteemed teachers and ready to help you with any part of the game, whether it’s to straighten out your drive or take a few strokes off your final score. The Reserve’s active golf calendar includes club-sponsored events and tournaments throughout the year, while a variety of member-organized golf outings occur weekly.

Hole No. 1 | Par 5
This starting hole favors a tee shot in the right side of the fairway which allows for a straight hole to be played from that point. This is one of the most reachable par-fives on the course so take advantage while you can!
|
Hole No. 2 | Par 4
Talk about a tee shot! Play it safe to the right of the waster bunker or take on the corner and have a short iron in. This large green is inviting, but if you miss it... good luck!
|
Hole No. 3 | Par 3
The first par-three on the front side is surrounded by bunkers and slopes off behind the green. If you happen to miss, let it be short middle of the green.
|
Hole No. 4 | Par 5
The last par-five on the front side plays a whopping 614 yards from the back tees. It requires an accurate tee shot and the lay-up should favor the right side of the fairway. A slightly elevated green allows for a tough up and down if you miss it.
|
Hole No. 5 | Par 4
Hold your breath on this hole! A large tree stands just off the tee box before the fairway, with woods lining the entire right side. Favor the left side of the fairway off the tee and you will have a much better shot into this elevated green.
|
Hole No. 6 | Par 4
Aim at the tree! A lone tree in the right center of the fairway is a good aiming point and will leave you a short iron into the seemingly downhill green. |
Hole No. 7 | Par 3
This is one of the longest par-threes on the course. A long iron, at best, into a green that has woods left and right with bunkers short.
|
Hole No. 8 | Par 4
Although this hole appears to be a long one, it plays much shorter than it looks. If you can work the ball from left to right, this hole will be appealing.
|
Hole No. 9 | Par 4
Your drive needs to be strategically placed in the left center of the fairway and short of the marshy area to win this hole. If you are even slightly right of center in the fairway, you're blocked out by a very tall tree forcing you to slice it around.
|
Hole No. 10 | Par 4
This short par-four can catch you sleeping. Despite a fairly easy tee shot with an open green, water short left leads into a bunker and there's a large runoff area to the right and back side of the green.
|
Hole No. 11 | Par 4
This straightaway has a tree blocking the approach on the right side of the fairway. The length of this hole can stretch out to 440 yards, which can be a make-or-break factor.
|
Hole No. 12 | Par 3
Be careful here! A ridge in the middle of the green slopes left toward the water, then right to a collection area. Long won't hurt you, but short can definitely bring double bogey into play.
|
Hole No. 13 | Par 5
This is the most reachable par-five on the course. If the flagstick is back left of the green, make sure you can hit a draw because there is a tall tree 20 yards short of the green, blocking the approach shot. Miss right in the collection area, if anything, due to a marshy area short left by the tall tree.
|
Hole No. 14 | Par 4
One of the toughest tee shots on the golf course, No. 14 requires you to shoot the gap between the trees to cut the corner. If you play it straight toward the waste bunker, be prepared for a long approach shot into a green that slopes from left to right.
|
Hole No. 15 | Par 4
This straightaway par-four has a green surrounded by bunkers. Make sure your distance control is on for this approach because long or short, it can be known to add multiple strokes to your score.
|
Hole No. 16 | Par 4
This "go big or go home" par-four can be hit in one, if you have the manpower to do so. If not, a simple iron off the tee will leave you only a wedge or short iron for your approach.
|
Hole No. 17 | Par 3
The toughest par-three finisher on the Grand Strand, this 215 yard hole requires a high, soft-landing tee shot. The green slants uphill from front to back and can leave a long breaking putt.
|
Hole No. 18 | Par 5
Playing over 600 yards from the tips, very few have hit this par-five in two shots. For mere mortals, the smart play is to lay-up just in front of the waste bunker, leaving you around 140 yards over the water for an approach shot. A birdie here feels like and eagle.
